Skutt's sectional design allows the owner to quickly disassemble the kiln for moving or repair. This design brought Ceramics into the home. It's light weight coupled with the ability to break down into smaller sections made it possible to move a kiln through a narrow doorway or down a flight of stairs.

EnviroVent2

The EnviroVent 2 is what is known as a Downdraft Vent. Downdraft vents actively remove fumes from your kiln before they can enter the room and vent them outside keeping your studio free of smell. It works by using a wall mounted fan to draw a very small amount of air through holes drilled in the slab (floor). The amount of air drawn is determined by the number and size of the holes drilled. Holes are also drilled in the lid in a specific pattern designed to direct the air in a way that does not affect your ware.

All in all, EnviroVent 2 is a design that greatly helps you to remove the unwanted fumes out of the room. You can feel safe when use your kiln at home, studio or school.

EnviroLink

The EnviroLink allows your controller to turn your EnviroVent 2 on or off based on how you program the kiln. Often times people will forget to turn on or off their vent. With the EnviroLink the controller does it for you. We will help you to install SKUTT's EnviroVent and EnviroLink. There are 3 different settings on your kilnmaster you can set to control the envirolink which located in configurations section of programming menu.

Option A – In ConeFire Mode the Vent will turn on when you press start and will turn off when the kiln reaches 150 F (65 C). In Ramp/Hold Mode the controller will ask you if you want the vent on or off for each segment programmed. This is the same for all 3 options.

Option B – During a ConeFire Program the vent is on up to 1450 F (788 C) and then turns the vent back on during the cooling cycle at 1000 F (538 C) and stays on until the kiln reaches 150F (65 C). This setting for those people firing Crystal Glazes.

Option C – During ConeFire Mode the Vent stays off throughout the entire firing.

Optional Upgrade to Type S Thermocouple

More Endurable Type S Thermocouple

Most all of the kilns that leave are factory are equipped with a Type K thermocouple. Type K thermocouples are accurate and inexpensive. The down side to Type K thermocouples is that they wear out and they wear out faster when exposed to extreme conditions. Type S thermocouples, which is made from platinum, can virtually last forever - it does not degrade under most atmospheres and has an extremely high melting point.
